The Pointe aux Barques Lighthouse Society wishes to announce that Anheuser-Busch of St. Louis, MO. has chosen the Pointe aux Barques Lighthouse to be featured in the 4th collector’s edition of its Michigan Lighthouse mirror program.

In October 2003, Anheuser-Busch’s marketing manager contacted the Society through our website www.pointeauxbarqueslighthouse.org. They were very impressed with the design and content of the website. It is ranked 6th internationally among the top 25 Lighthouse websites. Finally, in April, we were able to finalize the contract for the release of our Pointe aux Barques Lighthouse photo being used in production of the mirrors.

The photo was taken by internationally renowned photographer Gary Martin of Kalamazoo. His website is www.coastalbeacons.com and he has given the Society unrestricted usage of his photo’s to promote the restoration program of the Pointe aux Barques Lighthouse. The other two Michigan lighthouses featured in the mirror set are Rock Harbor Light on Isle Royale and Eagle Harbor Light in Eagle River, Mi.

Anheuser-Busch has donated $1,000, and a set of the mirrors, to the Society for permission to use the photo in their 4th series of Michigan Lighthouse mirror program. The Society has negotiated with Smith Distributing of Bad Axe, MI. to sell the mirrors with a percentage going toward the restoration program of the lighthouse. The Society is a 501c3 non-profit corporation which renders all donations as tax deductible.

Anyone wishing to purchase a set of these mirrors may call the Society at (989) 428-5177. The Society has not been told what the selling price will be for the Michigan Lighthouse mirror set, but hope to know soon. The mirrors vary in size two are rectangular approximately 18” x 26” and the Pointe aux Barques mirror is square approximately 25” x 27”. We expect delivery of the mirrors to be within the next 6 to 8 weeks.
