Goals - Pointe aux Barques Lighthouse Society

Preservation and restoration of Lighthouse in perpitude; Historical preservation date set to early 1900's.

Promotion of Cultural Awareness and preservation of Historical Heritage.

Establishment of working relationship with relevant government entities to achieve goals.

Establishment of an Endowed Fund with the Huron County Community Foundation to preserve site for community forever.

To provide accurate historical information regarding the lighthouse and the thumb underwater preserve.

To procure artifacts for the museum through donations or loans.

The 3rd Order Fresnel Lens, removed from the lighthouse when it was electrified, is presently on display at the Huron City Museums.
